Electricity: AEP Ohio is part of the American Electric Power system, one of the largest electric utilities in the United States, delivering electricity to more than 5 million customers in 11 states. Mid- Ohio Energy Cooperative is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative headquartered in Kenton, Hardin County Ohio. Mid Ohio has worked hand in hand with the Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance on several projects and today Mid-Ohio Energy has nearly 1,300 miles of line and 7,900 customers for an average of 6 consumers per mile. Water: We are blessed with an abundance of water from the aquifer in Hardin County. All villages and the city of Kenton, except Ridgeway and Patterson have water plants that are supplied from well fields. Sewer: The city of Kenton and Ada have the capacity to greatly expand their daily flow. To prepare for projected future growth, the Village of Forest has expanded their waste water treatment facility and has just completed a new water plant. Natural Gas: Sheldon Gas Company and Dominion East Ohio Gas provide natural gas service to a large portion of Hardin County. Columbia Transmission is the supplier for the County.
