Historic Courthouse District

Scarecrows Invade Downtown!

On Saturday, October 8, 2011 there will be a number of activities in the Historic Courthouse District.  Three businesses will hold their official “Grand Openings” with various other activities.  In conjunction with these events, Brian Heath, Hardin Leadership participant, is organizing a Scarecrow Decorating Event & Auction.

The Scarecrow Event is intended to be a fun and creative community event with the opportunity to raise funds for the Historic Courthouse District, as they will receive all proceeds.  In addition, those who purchase the Scarecrows will have Fall Yard Decorations for years to come!

Scarecrow frames can be obtained by any individual, business or organization for $5 by visiting the Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance office (HCCBA), 225 S. Detroit St, Kenton.  When finished, your creation can be dropped off at the HCCBA Office between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm Monday thru Friday until October 6th.  Additional evening hours for drop off are being planned and will be announced at a later time.

To see examples of other Scarecrows, visit the Historic Courthouse District on Facebook. If you have further questions, email Brian Heath hmxbux@gmail.com.
